History and Culture
McGraw Elementary, an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, opened in 1992 and is named in honor of Beryl “Brownie” McGraw, long-time 天涯社区 educator. McGraw promotes international-mindedness and the education of the whole child. Through the IB Primary Years Program students develop and apply a balance of knowledge, concepts, attitudes, and skills, which prepares them to thrive in and take action to positively shape their
local and global communities.
天涯社区 and Activities
McGraw’s learning environment is inquiry-based. Students explore transdisciplinary units that connect their learning across subject areas. A range of best practices and research-based interventions are used to meet individual learning needs so that each student is challenged and supported.

McGraw houses the district program for deaf and hard of hearing students. All students receive instruction in Spanish language skills. A few of the many enrichment programs at McGraw include Odyssey of the Mind, choir, student leadership team, running club, chess club, International Night, programming and robotics clubs and student-initiated community service.
